After Water Exposure Guidelines

LIQUISEAL does not recommend that your device experiences extreme or repeated exposure to liquid. Our coating is not a sealant and will not prevent liquid from entering your device if it is exposed to liquid. In the event of accidental liquid exposure, we recommend the following steps to prevent permanent damage to your device, even if the device shows no initial signs of malfunction.

Steps 1 to 4

  • Step 1

Turn off the mobile phone and remove the battery and sim card if it is possible.

  • Step 2

Shake very gently to help get water out. Do not try to remove any liquid by shaking hard. Dry the phone with a dry, absorbent cloth. Using Q-tips, dab open ports on the device to remove any visible liquids.

  • Step 3

Use a hair drier cold or warm wind blow the device from 6 inch away for at least 30 minutes. If possible put it into raw rice over night to absorb the moisture.

  • Step 4

Do not charge the device until it's completely dried. The increased power involved in charging the device may cause permanent damage if water is still inside the device.

If your device has a catastrophic failure after exposure to liquid, we suggest waiting at least 48 hours to allow the device to fully dry.  In most circumstances the device will recover on its own since the internal components will not corrode.
